Chaungtha Beach

Chaung-tha Beach is located 40 km. to the west of Pathein (Bassein) in Ayerwaddy Division. It is a very convenient drive from Yangon via Pathein taking about 5 hours.

 

Here, the food is much more tasty than any other beach though the beach is short. It is more natural and close to local market resulting personal choice of fishes and vegetables then self-catering in your hotel compound. Scuba-diving and studies on marine life could be performed at Thephyu island nearby. It is only one hour boat-drive to the beach.
