Thai Binh Travel Guide

Thai Binh is a coastal province in northern Vietnam. It is bordered with Hai Duong, Nam Dinh, Ha Nam, Hung Yen and Hai Phong. It is a plain province with flat terrain and a diverse range of lakes, ponds, rivers with cool climate and convenient transportation. Best time to visit

Visitors can travel to Thai Binh at anytime of the year. However, if you want to enjoy some amazing festivals, you need to find out the time and have a specific schedule and plan as so many domestic tourists will also come there.

Transportation

Thai Binh City is 110km from Hanoi, 18km from Nam Dinh and 70km from Hai Phong. To get to Thai Binh from Hanoi, tourists go along National Highway 1. When arriving in Phu Ly, turn left to Highway 21, get to Highway 10 overpass and then reach Nam Dinh and go through Tan De Bridge to come to Thai Binh.

Keo Temple

Keo Temple is a Buddhist temple which is located in Vu Thu District, Thai Binh Province, Vietnam. It was constructed in 1630 and completed in 1632 under the Ly Dynasty. In fact, Keo temple is the one of the most spectacular architecture in Vietnam. With more than 400 year old, it is an ancient destination that should not be missed in your Vietnam holiday. The best time to visit Keo Temple is during the festival. The annual festival is celebrated from 13th to 15th of the ninth lunar month. Coming there during this time, visitors will have chance to participate in traditional cultural activities reflecting the life style, which is associated with traits of the Red River Delta’s agricultural culture.

Dong Chau Beach

Thai Binh might not be famous for being a beach destination but Dong Chau Beach is absolute worth visiting when you travel to Thai Binh. The beach is situated in Dong Minh Commune, Tien Hai District, 30km from Thai Binh City and 145km from Hanoi. Coming to Dong Chau Beach, tourists can enjoy the fresh air, soft winds and nice weather there with green pine forests. You also can see oyster farms with countless sentry boxes, which are the characteristics of the place. From Dong Chau, tourists can go to Con Vanh Islet, which is only 7 km from the mainland.

Con Vanh Islet

Con Vanh Islet is considered the gateway to the Gulf of Tonkin with beautiful beaches stretching along the slopes of sand. It belongs to Tien Hai District, Thai Binh, 140 km from Hanoi. Con Vanh Islet is relatively unspoiled without the national grid. The generator only runs until 10 pm. But there is no need to worry as the night is very cool with breeze. The islet attracts tourists all year round. However, traveling there during festivals would be great as you can experience the cultural activities held by local people with so many folk games. Tourists should visit the lighthouse Ba Lat where you can observe the beauty of the Con Vanh Islet to the fullest.
