Nghe An Travel Guide

With a total area of 16,470 km2 of which 12,000 is forests and mountains, Nghe An is the largest province in north-central Vietnam which borders Laos and the Gulf of Tonkin. The capital city of Nghe An – Vinh is situated 291km to the South of Hanoi. Nghe An has a complicated topography which is divided by rivers, mountains, hills and streams stretching from Northwest to Southeast. The province owns some great attractions that tourists should visit during your Vietnam holiday.

Climate

Nghe An has a tropical monsoon climate which is directly affected by Southwest hot dry seasonal winds and Northeast wet and cold seasonal winds. The annual average temperature is from 23°C and 24°C.

Travelers can come to visit Nghe An by car, by train, or by plane.

By car

Tourists can go along highway 7, highway 48, highway 46, highway 15. The capital city – Vinh is 16km from Cua Lo Beach, 139km from Thanh Hoa, 197km from Dong Hoi, 291km from Hanoi, 368km from Hue, and 468km from Danang.

By train

From Hanoi, tourists can buy the ticket at Hanoi Railway Station to get to Vinh Station. The railway is 124km, in which 94km North - South line.

By flight

You can take the flight from Hanoi, Danang or Ho Chi Minh City to Vinh.

Attractions

Sen Village

Sen Village is very well known for being the birthplace of President Ho Chi Minh. If you ever travel to Nghe An, it is one of the attractions that cannot be missed. Sen Village is located at Kim Lien Town, Nam Dan. Coming to this village, tourists will have chance to learn about the motherland of Uncle Ho and his childhood life and show your respect towards one of the greatest Vietnameses. Like other typical villages in rural Vietnam, Sen village is peaceful, tranquil and poetic with green bamboo, a well outside the house, and temple yard where special occasions of the village are held.

Cua Lo Beach

Located 18km away from the center of Vinh city, Cua Lo Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in the northern Vietnam. In fact, the beach is only famous among domestic tourists from both north and center of the country. However, with its blue water, white sand, fascinating pine forest and coconut tree-lined shore, Cua Lo Beach is completely worth visiting if you ever come to Nghe An.

Bai Lu

Bai Lu belongs to Nghi Loc district, Nghe An province, also known as "paradise on the sea". It is an ideal place for resting, relaxing in cool fresh air of nature for both domestic and foreign tourists. The things that make Bai Lu stand out is snaking sandy shoreline embracing the sea, one side sparking water reflecting blue sky and another side swaying over a white beach.
